$3,000 Scholarships Available to Northwestern University’s Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability (MSES) Program

Members of the 2025-2026 cohort of Northwestern’s MSES Program

For a limited time, Northwestern University is offering $3,000 scholarships for its Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability (MSES) program to those who have at least three years of work experience.

Northwestern’s MSES program is a 10-month, cohort-based program that combines academic rigor with real-world experience. This program prepares students for leadership roles at the complex intersection of technology, business, and public policy in energy and sustainability.

Constellations Fellowship Offers More than 35 Remote Opportunities in Spring 2025 Cohort (Deadline Jan. 4)

Applications are currently being accepted for the Spring 2026 cohort of the Constellations Fellowship. This is a program of Climate Curve that supports the next generation of climate leaders by connecting students and recent graduates to professional opportunities within Climate Curve’s global network of climate organizations.  

These fellowships are 100% remote, entry-level part-time opportunities that provide hands-on professional development and career-building skills. The Spring 2026 cohort features more than 35 fellowships, which you can view here.

This cohort will start on February 2nd and run for 12-14 weeks. Fellows will be awarded a $1,000 stipend upon the completion of their fellowship.

This program is open to students and recent graduates (undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral) worldwide and Interested candidates can apply to more than one opportunity. If you have questions you can view this FAQ.

Last Call! Application Deadline is December 22 for EDF Climate Corps Fellowship (Summer 2026)

Last Call! The application deadline is December 22, 2025 at 11:59 pm PT for the summer 2026 cohort of the EDF Climate Corps, a premier summer fellowship program for graduate students.

EDF Climate Corps fellows work with companies, public institutions, and non-profits to identity opportunities to reduce emissions and drive sustainable change across their operations and supply chains. The EDF Climate Corps has placed more than 1,900 fellows in its history!

Fellows are matched with host organizations based on interests, skills and host needs. You can view the full list of past organizations on the EDF Climate Corps website. EDF prioritizes projects that work on:

  • Climate commitments and roadmaps

  • Climate-smart food and ag systems

  • Environmental and climate justice

  • Renewables and energy efficiency

  • Supplier engagement and Scope 3

  • Sustainable finance

  • Zero-emission vehicles and fleet transition

Fellowships are available in multiple locations, including New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; and other U.S. cities and towns. Remote, hybrid, and on-site options are available.

Fellows receive a minimum of $1,400 per week for 10-12 weeks, plus $1,400 for participation in Fellow Training. Compensation and relocation support vary by host organization, and will be disclosed to qualified applicants in the project selection process.

Free eCornell Certificate: “Climate Jobs: Building an Equitable, Resilient Clean Energy Economy”

250 New York State residents can receive free tuition, courtesy of the Climate Jobs Institute (CJI), for the online eCornell certificate: Climate Jobs: Building an Equitable, Resilient Clean Energy Economy.

This eight-week, online course provides an overview of the climate jobs approach to climate action. This framework emphasizes the creation of high-quality union jobs in the clean energy economy.

The next course cohorts in 2026 are January 7, March 4, and June 3. Registration is open for these dates and enrollment is first come, first serve.

Free Course: “How to Create a Climate Venture”

Registration is available for the Spring 2026 edition of How to Create a Climate Venture, a free weekly online course offered by Harvard Innovation Labs for aspiring climate entrepreneurs. It is taught by Rebekah Emanuel and features guest entrepreneurs and funders from the climate entrepreneurship ecosystem.

What You'll Learn:

  • How to explore and navigate the climate venture space.

  • Methods to generate and test ideas for climate-focused ventures.

  • Opportunities to connect and collaborate with fellow climate innovators.

Who Should Enroll:

  • Aspiring climate entrepreneurs without a defined idea.

  • Individuals with early-stage ideas looking to develop or pivot.

  • Full-time professionals who can commit to attending sessions regularly.

  • Support for both for-profit and nonprofit ventures.

  • Networking with a community of climate entrepreneurs.

  • Harvard Affiliates: Open to students, alumni, faculty, and staff.

  • Affiliates of Partner Institutions: Stanford, MIT, Dartmouth, Schools in the ClimateCAP network, and Greentown Labs TEX-E Consortium schools (Rice, Texas A&M, UT-Austin, Prairie View A&M, and University of Houston).

Application Deadline is January 5 for the 2026 Sage Impact Entrepreneurship Program

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2026 Sage Impact Entrepreneurship Program. This program is dedicated to accelerating the growth of innovative startups that address the important social and environmental challenges.

Selected startups receive benefits including $10,000 grants (with potential additional awards of $25K – $50K), mentorship, networking, and more!

This will be the second year of this program, which supported 56 organizations in its inaugural year.

This program is open to organizations in the US, UK, France, Germany, Portugal, and Spain. The application deadline is January 5, 2026.

Application Deadline is January 15 for the $50,000 Keeling Curve Prize

The application is open for the 2026 Keeling Curve Prize, an initiative of Climate Curve that will award $50,000 each to 10 global climate initiatives that demonstrate the ability to reduce, replace, or remove greenhouse gas emissions.

Prize categories include energy, finance, carbon sinks, transport and mobility, and social and cultural pathways. Applications are accepted from climate organizations anywhere in the world, regardless of size or status.

The application deadline is January 15, 2026, or when 500 eligible applications are received.

Yield Giving Donates More than $1 Billion to Environmental Organizations in 2025

To conclude this year’s newsletters with a bit of positive news, Yield Giving, the philanthropic organization established by MacKenzie Scott, announced its 2025 gifts earlier this month. In total, more than $7 billion was donated to more than 200 non-profit organizations. Since its founding, Yield Giving has donated more than $26 billion.

Green Jobs Network has produced a spreadsheet listing all organizations that have received gifts from Yield Giving that self-reported as working on the environment (consisting of at least one of these focus areas: Biodiversity, Climate Change, Environmental Justice, Natural Resources Conservation).

These organizations received more than $1 billion this year, and more than $3.4 billion across all years. You can view these organizations and some related statistics in this document.
