Applications Being Accepted for Three Climate Reporting Fellowships at Grist (Remote)

Grist

Applications are being accepted for three paid, remote climate reporting fellowships at Grist, a nonprofit, independent media organization dedicated to highlighting climate solutions and uncovering environmental injustices.

About the Grist Fellowship Program

The mission of the Grist fellowship program is to help underrepresented, early-career climate journalists gain a stronger foothold in our industry. Our definition of “early-career” includes but is not limited to: journalists who are relatively new to the environmental/climate beat, freelancers who have not had full-time newsroom experience, recent journalism school graduates, and scientists without traditional journalism training but with strong writing clips and content knowledge.

As a climate solutions fellow at Grist, you will be a part of our larger fellowship program, which aims to provide a formative experience in a geographically distributed but tight-knit media organization and professional development for early-career journalists and storytellers. We will encourage full participation in staff discussions and meetings and seek input on issues large and small.

The three fellowships are:

This fellowship is a full-time, non-exempt position and will run for 12 months, beginning May 5, 2025 and ending April 30, 2026. The annual base pay is $58,750 and Fellows can be based anywhere in the U.S.

The application deadline is 11:59 PT on January 21, 2025. To learn more and apply click on one of the links above or visit this page. For questions email [email protected].

This program has also been added to the Green Jobs Network fellowships website climatefellowships.com.
