Deadline Approaching for 25 Jobs in Environmental and Social Impact via the FUSE Executive Fellowship

FUSE Corps

Don’t miss the application cycle for the Fall 2025 cohort of the FUSE Executive Fellowship! This is a program of FUSE Corps, a national nonprofit that partners with local governments and communities to more effectively address pressing challenges by placing experienced professionals in local government agencies.

FUSE Executive Fellows are experienced professionals with at least fifteen years of work experience. Fellows are full-time employees of FUSE Corps and receive an annualized base salary of $80,000 plus benefits. Fellowships begin as one year assignments and may be renewed for a second year. Organic Career Network

Internships are available at 10 organizations as part of the Fall 2025 cycle of the Organic Career Network (OCN) Internship Program. This program connects aspiring professionals with hands-on learning experiences in organic agriculture.

These paid internships offer opportunities to build practical skills, receive mentorship, and gain exposure to diverse careers in the organic sector—from farming and research to certification, policy, advocacy and much more.

Here are key details:

  • Duration: 10–12 weeks

  • Format: Remote, in-person, or hybrid (varies by host)

  • Compensation: All internships are paid a minimum of $15/hr

  • Eligibility: 18-25 years old

  • Location: Interns must reside in the United States

  • Cohort Participation: All interns attend four mandatory virtual sessions

Friends of the Earth is currently accepting applications for multiple remote internships:

Internships are 15-20 hours per week for a period of 5 to 7 months. Compensation is $19.50/hour.

Deadline is August 29 for National Geographic Society & The Nature Conservancy Marine & Community Conservation Externship

The application period is now open for the Fall 2025 Marine and Community Conservation Externship Program.

This is a program of the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy and provides training, mentoring and research experience for people ages 18-25. Over the course of the program, externs explore the knowledge, tools, and relationships they need to seek solutions and take action for nature.

Here are key details about this program: 

  • 10 hours per week for 8 weeks (September 15, 2025 – November 8, 2025) 

  • Fully remote 

  • Open to applicants worldwide 

  • This program is intended for people ages 18–25 to build the knowledge, tools, and relationships needed to seek solutions and take action in their communities.

  • Prior work experience or coursework in conservation or environmental topics is not required 

  • $500 stipend upon program completion. 

Externs will gain knowledge and develop skills in areas including:

  • Storytelling: Gain written, verbal, and visual storytelling skills to communicate marine issues and how your community can help.

  • Marine Conservation: Explore resources and case studies on current marine conservation issues and solutions, such as marine protected areas.

  • Investigative Research: Learn and apply primary and secondary research methods to investigate conservation initiatives and identify regional and local issues relevant to marine conservation.

  • Public Speaking: Speak to local leaders, conservationists, and community members to understand connections to marine conservation.

  • Problem-Solving: Identify gaps in local conservation efforts relevant to marine conservation and propose solutions to issues you may uncover.

A free event Building the Cleantech Workforce: Skills for a Sustainable Future will be taking place in San Francisco on August 29. This program will feature a panel of speakers from across the climate innovation ecosystem who will explore:

  • The technical and digital skills cleantech companies are hiring for today

  • The career pathways emerging across startups, infrastructure, policy, and education

  • What students can do to prepare for future jobs

  • How higher education institutions and leadership programs are adapting for this moment

Mulago Henry Arnhold Fellowship

The application deadline is August 28 for the Henry Arnhold Fellowship. This is a one-year program from Mulago for entrepreneurial leaders with climate, conservation, and environment solutions that can achieve significant impact.

Fellowship benefits include coaching and a $100,000 unrestricted grant. A total of 8 - 10 fellows will be selected for this cohort. The criteria for fellows include:

  • A solution that can drive exponential impact over time to a big conservation or climate problem.

  • An organization up and running (even if very small or very early) and are working full time on it.

  • The most senior role (usually an Executive Director or CEO) at their organization.
