30+ Environmental and Social Impact Jobs via the FUSE Executive Fellowship (Priority Deadline August 14)

Priority application deadline August 14!

The application period is now open for the Fall 2026 cohort of the FUSE Executive Fellowship. This is a program of FUSE Corps, a national nonprofit that partners with local governments and communities to more effectively address pressing challenges by placing experienced professionals in local government agencies.

FUSE Executive Fellows are experienced professionals with at least fifteen years of work experience. Fellows are full-time employees of FUSE Corps and receive an annualized base salary of $95,000 plus benefits. Fellowships begin as one year assignments and may be renewed for a second year.

The Fall 2026 cohort features more than 30 fellowships in areas of environmental and social impact in regions across the United States.

The specific opportunities are:

*FUSE Executive Fellows in San Francisco have the option to enroll in an additional program (the Coro San Francisco Executive Fellows Experience) and receive an additional stipend. Details are outlined in the SF fellowship postings.

Last Call! Deadline is August 17 for the Online Oxford Certificate in Climate Solutions ($400 Discount)

The application period is open (through August 17) for the latest cohort of the online Oxford Certificate in Climate Solutions & Strategies.

This 14-week program has been built by experts at Skill Up for Earth (in partnership with the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford) who have trained thousands globally to turn concern into action – whether that means shifting a career, launching a project, organizing locally, or just becoming more effective at climate work.

This certificate program is designed to help learners build credible, employer-relevant climate expertise. You can explore the curriculum here.

In the words of one of the participants of the inaugural cohort: “Beyond strengthening my professional practice, it equipped me with practical tools, fresh perspectives, and a global network of peers that continue to inform my work and inspire more effective climate action.”

This certificate program is open to people worldwide. Students will be organized into small groups that meet for live sessions every Wednesday. These sessions will be offered at different times throughout the day so that people in different time zones can attend.

Employer Spotlight: Copper

Copper is a clean technology company that develops electric home appliances with built-in batteries. Its first product, Charlie, is an induction range that can plug into a standard 120-volt outlet. The company plans to apply its technology to other appliances, including water heaters and heating and cooling systems.

Copper is a Certified B Corporation, and is the first major appliance company to receive this certification. They are currently hiring for the following roles:

Pro Bono Hiring Capacity-Building Support Available for U.S. Climate Nonprofits

Action Appointments, a non-profit hiring firm with a 30-year track record, and Onboard Climate, a philanthropy-backed climate talent initiative, have partnered to offer a pilot program of pro bono recruitment assistance and capacity-building support to small and mid-sized climate action nonprofits based in the U.S.

Examples of the types of support available in this initiative include:

  • Strengthening recruitment processes and systems

  • Receiving real-time support on an active recruitment process

  • Developing a practical recruitment protocol for future hiring

  • Building long-term hiring confidence and capacity

This is a free program and a limited number of spots are available. Non-profits do not have to be currently hiring to be eligible to participate. Additional information about this program is available on this page.

Organic Career Network Hosts Organic Job Fair on August 27 (Online)

The Organic Career Network is holding a Virtual Organic Job Fair on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 11am – 3pm PST / 1 – 5pm CST / 2 – 6pm EST.

The job fair is designed to connect job seekers with hiring organizations in organic agriculture. Positions featured at the fair are expected to range from internships and entry-level roles to mid-career opportunities.

Registration is free for attendees and is available at this link. Registered attendees will be able to log in during the event to browse listings and chat live with participating organizations.

49 Remote Opportunities Available in Fall 2026 Cohort of Constellations Fellowship

Applications are currently being accepted for the Fall 2026 cohort of the Constellations Fellowship. This is a program of Climate Curve that supports the next generation of climate leaders by connecting students and recent graduates to professional opportunities within their global network of climate organizations.  

hese fellowships are 100% remote, entry-level, part-time opportunities that provide hands-on professional development and career-building skills. The Fall 2026 cohort features 49 fellowships -- you can view a complete list here and position descriptions here.

This cohort will start on September 21 and run for 12-14 weeks. Fellows will be awarded a $1,000 stipend upon the completion of their fellowship.

This fellowship is open to students and recent graduates worldwide, with no location restrictions other than those in countries under international sanctions. Interested candidates can apply to more than one opportunity. An FAQ about this program is available here.

This fellowship has been added to the Green Jobs Network fellowship website climatefellowships.com.

Applications are now being accepted for the Conservation Law Foundation’s (CLF) Charlotte E. Ray Legal Fellowship.

This is a two-year fellowship that honors the memory of Charlotte E. Ray, a trailblazer and Howard University graduate who became the first African American woman admitted to the bar in the United States, in 1872. This position is ideal for third-year law students, judicial clerks, or recent law school graduates. The Fellowship would begin in the fall of 2027.

The Fellow will participate in rotations across each of CLF’s program areas (climate & energy, environmental justice, healthy and resilient communities, clean air and water, strategic litigation and ocean conservation) for approximately two thirds of the Fellowship, with an eventual focus on one specific program for the remainder of the Fellowship and upon hire for the Associate Attorney position, if applicable.

Here are additional key details:

  • A law degree is required prior to start of the Fellowship in Fall 2027

  • The Fellow will be located either in our Boston headquarters or in one of CLF’s other offices in Montpelier, VT, Concord, NH, Portland, ME, Providence, RI, or New Haven, CT, with some flexibility to work remotely within New England.

  • The term of this position is two years, with the strong possibility of being asked to join CLF as an Associate Attorney at the end of the fellowship.

  •  The starting salary range for Boston-based Fellows is $86,000 – $90,000 and $77,000 – $82,000 for those based in other New England states. Additionally, fellows receive a $2,000 salary increase upon passing the bar. CLF also offers an extensive benefits plan.

August 30 Deadline for National Geographic Society & The Nature Conservancy Externship Program

This is a program of the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy that will support the next generation of conservation mappers and data storytellers.

Over the course of the program, externs will have the opportunity to explore pressing conservation challenges and translate real environmental data into community impact using industry-standard GIS tools.

Externs will work with experts from the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy while building data visualization, mapping, and science communication skills.

Here is what externs will do during the program:

  • Explore conservation topics like biodiversity loss, marine issues, and freshwater threats

  • Get hands-on training with Esri GIS and mapping tools

  • Conduct location-based data research in your own community

  • Build a portfolio-ready Esri StoryMap showcasing your research and data visualizations

Here are key details about this program: 

  • 10 hours per week for 8 weeks, starting September 14, 2026

  • Fully remote 

  • Open to applicants worldwide, ages 18–25.

  • Prior work experience or coursework in GIS, conservation, or environmental topics isn’t required.

  • $500 stipend upon program completion.

Last Call! Application Deadline is August 14 for Pulitzer Center’s Free Climate Storytelling Accelerator

The deadline is August 14 for the free Climate Storytelling Accelerator offered by The Pulitzer Center. This is a six-week virtual workshop is designed to help local news outlets with little or no video experience turn their reporting into engaging content for TikTok, Instagram, and/or YouTube Shorts. No prior video experience is required.

This program will provide practical training and by the end of the program, participants will have created videos, developed a repeatable workflow, and a plan to share your work with your audience.

This training is open to reporters across the United States, including those working in Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, who will publish with local news outlets.

The first virtual session will take place during the week of August 24, with weekly sessions continuing for six weeks.

$200 Million Phoenix Species Project Launched to Recover 100 Threatened Species

The Phoenix Species Project, a global effort to recover 100 of the world’s most threatened species, was launched last week with a $200 million commitment from Leonardo DiCaprio’s Re:wild and the Bezos Earth Fund, with support from Age of Union and the Todd Graves Family Foundation.

An overview of this initiative is in this video.

This initiative represents the largest single philanthropic fund dedicated exclusively to the recovery of Critically Endangered species across taxonomic groups, a diversity of habitats, and countries.

The project’s 100 species span mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, fish, invertebrates, and plants from 30 countries that live across a range of habitats.

More than 100 local and international partners around the world (including Indigenous Peoples, local communities, conservationists, and governments) will be leading the work. The project is in collaboration with the IUCN Species Survival Commission as global knowledge partner.
