This 14-week program has been built by experts at Skill Up for Earth (in partnership with the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford) who have trained thousands globally to turn concern into action – whether that means shifting a career, launching a project, organizing locally, or just becoming more effective at climate work.
This certificate program is designed to help learners build credible, employer-relevant climate expertise. You can explore the curriculum here.
In the words of one of the participants of the inaugural cohort: “Beyond strengthening my professional practice, it equipped me with practical tools, fresh perspectives, and a global network of peers that continue to inform my work and inspire more effective climate action.”
This certificate program is open to people worldwide. Students will be organized into small groups that meet for live sessions every Wednesday. These sessions will be offered at different times throughout the day so that people in different time zones can attend.

30+ Environmental and Social Impact Jobs via the FUSE Executive Fellowship
Priority application deadline August 14!
The application period is now open for the Fall 2026 cohort of the FUSE Executive Fellowship. This is a program of FUSE Corps, a national nonprofit that partners with local governments and communities to more effectively address pressing challenges by placing experienced professionals in local government agencies.
FUSE Executive Fellows are experienced professionals with at least fifteen years of work experience. Fellows are full-time employees of FUSE Corps and receive an annualized base salary of $95,000 plus benefits. Fellowships begin as one year assignments and may be renewed for a second year.

The application period is open for the Fall 2026 Community Conservation, Data Visualization, and Mapping Externship.
This is a program of the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy that will support the next generation of conservation mappers and data storytellers.
Over the course of the program, externs will have the opportunity to explore pressing conservation challenges and translate real environmental data into community impact using industry-standard GIS tools.
Externs will work with experts from the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy while building data visualization, mapping, and science communication skills.
Here is what externs will do during the program:
Explore conservation topics like biodiversity loss, marine issues, and freshwater threats
Get hands-on training with Esri GIS and mapping tools
Conduct location-based data research in your own community
Build a portfolio-ready Esri StoryMap showcasing your research and data visualizations
Here are key details about this program:
10 hours per week for 8 weeks, starting September 14, 2026
Fully remote
Open to applicants worldwide, ages 18–25.
Prior work experience or coursework in GIS, conservation, or environmental topics isn’t required.
$500 stipend upon program completion.

Denver Providing $2,500 Rebates in New Climate Jobs Education & Training Program
Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency (CASR) has recently launched a new Training Rebate program to help people upskill into climate‑focused careers.
This program will reimburse individuals up to $2,500 for approved certifications, courses, and exams.
Approved trainings are available for the following industries:
Trades & construction (HVAC, electricians, pipefitters, builders)
Facilities & energy management
EV Maintenance & Charging Infrastructure
Urban Forestry/Tree care
Water Management
Compost Operations
To be eligible for a rebate, applicants must live in Denver; work in Denver; or attend a Denver college, training program, or trade school.
Eligible applicants may submit multiple trainings until they reach the $2,500 limit.

Application Deadline is August 14 for Pulitzer Center’s Free Climate Storytelling Accelerator
The Pulitzer Center is currently accepting applications for free Climate Storytelling Accelerator. This is a six-week virtual workshop is designed to help local news outlets with little or no video experience turn their reporting into engaging content for TikTok, Instagram, and/or YouTube Shorts. No prior video experience is required.
This program will provide practical training and by the end of the program, participants will have created videos, developed a repeatable workflow, and a plan to share your work with your audience.
This training is open to reporters across the United States, including those working in Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, who will publish with local news outlets.
The first virtual session will take place during the week of August 24, with weekly sessions continuing for six weeks.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2026 Climate Equity & Resilience Institute (CERSI). This program is hosted by the University of Washington Climate Impacts Group and Washington Sea Grant, and supported by EarthLab.
CERSI is an intensive program designed for emerging professionals in the Pacific Northwest in any discipline with a demonstrated interest in climate change, climate resilience, and issues of how those topics intersect with cultures and societies.
This year, the program will be open to late-stage graduate students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals working in climate resilience (including those who have shifted careers).
This program Is designed to provide participants with a well-rounded understanding of climate resilience and how it intersects with cultures and societies in order to better understand how to integrate climate adaptation and resilience into their work, practice areas, research, or life. The program will host a variety of guest speakers and there will be field trips/site visits throughout the week.
The program will take place from September 27 – October 4, 2026 at Warm Beach Camp and Conference Center in Stanwood, Washington.
The fee for participants who are not affiliated with the University of Washington is $300, covering shared lodging, meals, transportation from Seattle, and other program expenses. Scholarships are available and travel stipends may be available for those traveling from outside of Seattle.
