The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), one of the nationโs leading public health advocacy organizations working to improve the food environment for all, offers a paid internship program for students in undergraduate, graduate, law and medical schools (as well as postgraduates).
These paid internships offer structured work experiences and an opportunity to:
Gain substantial knowledge of the policy-making process and the role science plays.
Participate in group meetings and strategy brainstorming sessions.
Obtain general research and communication skills by working closely with science, policy, legislative and outreach experts.
Meet with staff at all levels of the organization to discuss career roles and paths.
Assess your interests and skills.
CSPI's Fall 2024 intern program is part-time (10 hours / week) for 10 weeks, with an ideal start date in early September. The internship program is remote within the U.S., with the opportunity to work from CSPI's DC office. Interns are paid $17.50 per hour.

Applications Being Accepted for Dana Alston Environmental Justice Fellowship
The National Wildlife Federation is accepting applications for the Dana Alston Environmental Justice Fellowship. This fellowship program was established in 2023 and honors and recognizes Dana Alston, a foundational environmental justice leader and champion.
Ms. Alston assisted in the convening of the historic First National People of Color Environmental Leadership Summit in 1991. This event, which brought together grassroots environmental justice activists from around the country and helped to establish a national agenda for the environmental justice movement, was a pivotal moment in environmental justice history. Ms. Alston passed away in 1999.
This Fellowship is intended to support the next generation of environmental justice leaders. This program will provide the Fellow with an immersive and experiential opportunity to engage in the field of environmental justice and connections to a national network of environmental justice leaders and stakeholders.
The specific project for this Fellowship will involve the exploration of the intersection of housing justice, environmental justice, and disaster policy to examine opportunities to bolster community and ecosystem resilience. More details on the project are available here.
This is a full-time, 11-month position. Compensation is $25 per hour, plus benefits.
This role is based in Washington, DC. The Fellow may work in the office, in a hybrid manner, or fully remote, to be decided jointly with their supervisor in the final stages of the interview process.

New FUSE Executive Fellowship Available in Los Angeles
FUSE Corps is a national nonprofit that partners with local governments and communities to more effectively address pressing challenges by placing experienced professionals in local government agencies. FUSE Corps has worked on more than 250 projects in 42 cities and counties across 18 states serving a combined population of 25 million people.
FUSE Executive Fellows are experienced professionals, with most having at least 12-15 years of work experience. Fellows are full-time employees of FUSE Corps and receive an annualized base salary of $80,000 plus benefits. Fellowships begin as one year assignments and may be renewed for a second year.
Applications are being accepted for a new fellowship where you would be working on two initiatives for Los Angeles County:
One of these efforts is a coastal resilience initiative to preserve and enhance public access to Los Angeles Countyโs beaches and coastline.
The other is Marina del Rey for All, a community-led effort to make the beachside community of Marina del Rey more equitable, inclusive, welcoming, and accessible for all.

Applications are still being accepted for the next cohort of the SolarCorps Fellowship. This is a program of GRID Alternatives and provides a career pipeline for individuals into the clean energy field via an 11-month apprenticeship model. More than 300 people have served as fellows in this program!
The 2024-2025 cohort is from September 16th, 2024, to August 15th, 2025. Fellows receive a $37,400 stipend over the 11 months and additional benefits.
Paid positions are located in California, the D.C. area, and Puerto Rico. Remote and location-flexible positions are also available.
