The application deadline is June 20 are now being accepted for the Summer 2025 Freshwater and Community Conservation Externship Program offered by the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy.
During the Externship, participants will learn about freshwater conservation careers from weekly webinars featuring National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy experts, explore curated digital content, and create a community-based conservation project to practice research, storytelling and presentation skills.
Here are key details about this program:
10 hours per week for 8 weeks (July 14, 2025 - September 7, 2025)
Fully remote
Open to applicants worldwide
This program is intended for people ages 18–25 to build the knowledge, tools, and relationships needed to seek solutions and take action in their communities.
Prior work experience or coursework in conservation or environmental topics is not required
$500 stipend upon program completion.

Applications Being Accepted for E2 1 Hotels Fellowship
Applications are now being accepted for the 1 Hotels Fellowship at E2. The fellowship is a collaboration between Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) and 1 Hotels and provides support to early and mid-career professionals who identify important environmental challenges in the U.S. and lead projects that elevate the business and economic case for smart policy solutions.
Key details about this program include:
Six fellowships will be awarded.
The fellowship period is January 2026 – December 2026.
Each fellow receives a $10,000 award to support their project.
Fellows will receive support from E2 and NRDC staff to complete their selected projects.
Fellows will become part of E2 and its Emerging Leaders Program, which provides mentorship, press opportunities, and other professional development support.

Applications are currently being accepted for the next cohort of the SolarCorps Fellowship. This is a program of GRID Alternatives and provides a career pipeline for individuals into the clean energy industry through an 11-month apprenticeship model. More than 300 people have served as fellows in this program!
The 2025 – 2026 cohort runs from September 15, 2025 to August 14, 2026. Fellows receive a $40,800 stipend over the 11 months and additional benefits.
Paid positions are located in California, the D.C. area, and New Mexico. Remote and location-flexible positions are also available.

June 15 is the application deadline for the HVAC HERO Scholarship. This program will award $2,500 to up to 30 students pursuing an HVAC degree or certificate at a community college, trade school, or technical institute.
This scholarship is an initiative of the EGIA Foundation to support people pursuing residential HVAC or home performance contracting careers. More than 100 scholarships have been awarded in the history of this program.
