Applications are still being accepted for the Spring 2025 cohort of the FUSE Executive Fellows. This is a program of FUSE, a national nonprofit that partners with local governments and communities to more effectively address pressing challenges by placing experienced professionals in local government agencies.

The 2025 All Ivy Environmental and Sustainable Development Career Fair will be on February 23 at Columbia University. This program provides an opportunity for students and alumni to learn about internships and full-time career opportunities available from participating employers.

A video is now available from Building a Sustainable Future Legal Careers in Climate & Clean Energy, a webinar that was co-presented by Leonard Adler (CEO of Green Jobs Network) and Matthew Karmel (Founder of the Planetary Lawyer Project).

This program was presented as part of Justia’s Webinar offerings. Justia is one of the world’s leading online legal companies and provides free case law, codes, regulations and legal information for lawyers, business, students and consumers worldwide.

This webinar included an overview of career opportunities for lawyers in fields such as sustainability and clean energy, stories of attorneys who have made a successful career shift into these fields, and job search tips and resources. You can view the video here.

Free Training Opportunity: Geothermal Energy from the Ground Up (NY State)

Free Training Opportunity: Geothermal Energy from the Ground Up (NY State)

Registration is available for a free geothermal training opportunity: Geothermal Energy from the Ground Up. This is being offered by the Stony Brook University Office for Research and Innovation and is open to New York State residents.

This is a 10-week online program that starts on Tuesday, March 4. It will introduce attendees to the policy, engineering, design, environmental, and economic factors of geothermal energy and will feature content designed and delivered by experts in the geothermal energy field.

Applications Being Accepted for the 2025 J.M.K. Innovation Prize ($175K)

The application period is now open for the J.M.K. Innovation Prize. This is an initiative of the J.M. Kaplan Fund and seeks to identify and support bold problem-solvers leading transformative, early-stage projects in the fields of heritage conservation, the environment, and social justice.

There will be 10 prizes awarded, each including a cash award of $150,000 over three years and $25,000 in technical assistance funds. Awardees will also receive guidance through the Fund’s resource network, accessing hands-on training and support to help turn their ideas into sustainable growth and impact. The J.M.K. Innovation Prize has supported 50 initiatives since 2015.

The application process is open to individuals or teams representing nonprofit or mission-driven for-profit organizations in the U.S.
