FUSE Corps

Applications are now being accepted for the Spring 2024 cohort of the FUSE Executive Fellows. This is a program of FUSE Corps, a national nonprofit that partners with local governments and communities to more effectively address pressing challenges by placing experienced professionals in local government agencies.

FUSE Executive Fellows receive an annualized base salary of $80,000 plus benefits. Fellowships begin as one year assignments and may be renewed for a second year. For FAQs on the Fellowship program click here.

The Spring 2024 cohort features more than 15 fellowships in areas of environmental or social impact in selected cities across the United States.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). SBTi drives climate action in the private sector by enabling organizations to set science-based emissions reduction targets.

100+ Paid Summer Internships Available via the EDICT Internship Program

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Empowering Diverse Climate Talent (EDICT) internship program. EDICT is a partnership between Clean Energy Leadership Institute, Elemental Excelerator, and FutureMapand is designed to match employers from all sectors of climate innovation with aspiring climate professionals, college students, and recent graduates from traditionally excluded backgrounds.

Green Jobs Network has been a supporter of this program and GJN CEO Leonard Adler presented a session on "Finding Green & Climate Jobs" to participants of the EDICT program in 2023.

The 2024 EDICT program will offer more than 100 paid summer internships (view the list here). This program is open to current college students, recent graduates, and graduate students.

Applications Being Accepted for Council on Environmental Quality Summer 2024 Internships

The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) within the Executive Office of the President offers internships to undergraduate and graduate students throughout the year. CEQ interns are supervised by CEQ staff, and provide critical research and writing assistance on a range of environmental policies such as implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act, environmental justice, sustainability, climate change, resilience, public lands, water, and transportation.

Internships are paid, with a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week, and are based in Washington, DC. You can download a flyer with information about this program by clicking the image below.

Six Remote Paid Opportunities for Students with the New Futures Fellowship (Summer 2024)

2024 New Futures Fellowships by Planet Reimagined

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 New Futures Fellowships by Planet Reimagined. This is a paid, three-month remote fellowship program that focuses on innovative and interdisciplinary solutions to the climate crisis. This fellowship brings together activists and scholars from around the globe to conduct research, make policy recommendations, and produce creative digital content.

The 2024 fellowship will focus on two themes: Climate + River Delta Communities and Clean Energy + Environmental Justice. From May 28 to September 6, fellows will collaborate in teams, taking on roles as researchers, campaigners, communicators, and policy analysts.

The fellowship is a full-time educational experience with a stipend of $2,500 and six total fellowships are available. This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students worldwide who are currently enrolled in a degree program or entering a graduate degree program by January 2025.

Fellows may come from any field of study including natural and physical sciences, social science, arts, humanities communications, journalism, public relations, etc.

U.S. EPA to Host Hiring Webinar on February 7

EPA Virtual Hiring Webinar: February 7, 2024

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be hosting a virtual hiring webinar on February 7, 2024, at 2 p.m. ET. Speakers will include EPA Deputy Administrator Janet McCabe, EPA hiring specialists, and current EPA employees at the event.

This event will include information on how to navigate the federal job application process and unique hiring pathways for students and recent graduates. The session will include a Q&A portion where you can ask our panel of hiring specialists questions about the federal hiring process.

$3,500 Climate Tech Career Pathways Scholarship Available from Dream.Org

Dream.Org's Climate Career Pathways Scholarship Fund

Applications are now being accepted for the next cycle of Dream.Org's Climate Career Pathways Scholarship Fund. Selected applicants can receive up to $3,500 for technical training, coursework, and professional certifications in climate change and sustainability. In its history Dream.org has awarded scholarships to more than 600 people!

Climate Pro Bono Bootcamp

Last week's Climate Pro Bono Bootcamp was a great success! Hundreds of legal professionals attended this program, which discussed how to find pro bono opportunities and provided specific instruction in the substantive skills needed to do pro bono work for renewable energy projects, climate startups, and more.

Applications Period Opens for $50,000 Keeling Curve Prize

Keeling Curve Prize

February 12 is the application deadline for the 2024 Keeling Curve Prize, an initiative of The Global Warming Mitigation Project that will award $50,000 each to 10 global climate initiatives that demonstrate the ability to reduce, replace, or remove greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Prize categories include energy, finance, carbon sinks, transport and mobility, and social and cultural pathways. Applications are accepted from climate organizations anywhere in the world, regardless of size or status.
