Free attendee registration is still available for the Midwest RE+ Clean Energy Job Fair! This event is being organized by GRID Alternatives and Elevate and will be in Chicago on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Palmer House Hilton from 10 am - 1 pm.

This event will include panel sessions and attendees will have the opportunity to speak to employers that are offering a variety of clean energy roles, such as Account Manager, Sales Manager, Procurement Analyst, Solar Installers, Accountant, Finance Manager, Engineer Analyst, Site Technicians, Project Scheduler, HR Associate, Project Manager, Designers, Logistics Coordinator, Mechanical Engineer, CAD Drafter, and More!

Fellowship Spotlight: Grist Journalism Fellowships

Grist Journalism Fellowsips

Applications are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 cycle for the Grist Journalism Fellowships. This program is intended for early-career journalists with a demonstrated interest in environmental issues. Four fellowships are available: Environmental Justice, Climate News, Climate Solutions, and Indigenous Affairs.

Grist's definition of "early-career" includes, but is not limited to: journalists who are relatively new to the environmental/climate beat, freelancers who have not had full-time newsroom experience, recent journalism school graduates, and scientists without traditional journalism training but with strong writing clips and content knowledge.

Fellows receive a $55,000 salary, benefits, and professional development support. Fellows can be based anywhere in the United States, and have the option to work out of Grist’s Seattle office or New York co-working space.

The dates for this fellowship cycle are March 3, 2024 - Feb 28, 2025, and the application deadline is November 26, 2023. For complete information and to apply visit grist.org/fellowships

EDF Climate Corps Fellowship Early Application Deadline is November 30

Environmental Defense Fund

Applications are currently being accepted for the Summer 2024 U.S. cohort of the EDF Climate Corps. This paid opportunity matches graduate students with host organizations where Climate Corps fellows work on climate and energy projects.

The early application deadline is November 30, 2023, and the regular deadline is January 9, 2024. Individuals who submit an application prior to the November deadline will have the opportunity to choose from a more robust list of host organizations.

Deadline is November 12 for Dr. Bronner's Fair Trade Summer Internships (5 roles) 

Last call! The application deadline is 11:59pm PST on Sunday, November 12th for Dr. Bronner's Fair Trade Summer 2024 Internships. Interns receive an hourly wage of $28.50, shared company-paid housing, company-paid full medical (PPO), and more. Interns will learn about fair trade business practices and operations and obtain experience in one of five internship opportunities.

Internship Spotlight: Council on Environmental Quality

CEQ Internship Program

The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) within the Executive Office of the President offers internships to undergraduate and graduate students throughout the year. CEQ interns are supervised by CEQ staff, and provide critical research and writing assistance on a range of environmental policies such as implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act, environmental justice, sustainability, climate change, resilience, public lands, water, and transportation.

Internships are paid, with a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week, and are based in Washington, DC. 

CEQ may consider applications from prospective interns on a rolling basis. For the Summer 2024 cycle, the recommended application deadline is February 23, 2024 (this date is corrected from the deadline listed in the last issue). To learn more and download the internship application click here.

Green Jobs Network Launches Resource for Career Education & Training

ClimateJobTraining.com - Invest in your future

Green Jobs Network has launched ClimateJobTraining.com to make it easier to find education & training opportunities for careers related to clean energy, climate change, and sustainability.

Through the initial release you can access more than 500 online courses (many of which are free) from providers including UN CC:Learn, Interstate Renewable Energy Council, edX, HeatSpring, and Schneider Electric University.

In addition, to assist job seekers in their career exploration the website includes career maps in areas including solar, wind, green buildings, and more.
