This app brings the power of Green Jobs Network to you — on the go!

It includes the following features for our community:

  • Community: Explore ways to connect with the Green Jobs Network community, including our 145,000 member group on LinkedIn.

  • Learn: Discover career resources to accelerate your job search and invest in your future, including GJN's Climate Career Hub and education & training programs.

  • Career Chats: Chat with Robin, our AI sustainability career coach. Robin was originally introduced on ClimateJobs.AI and can now be accessed in this app.

The app is free and registration isn’t required.

Education Spotlight: Online and In-Person Environmental Master’s Programs at IU’s O’Neill School (May 1 Deadline)

Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, which is top-ranked for Environmental Policy & Management, is currently accepting applications for its three master’s programs in environmental science and sustainability.

For the next cohorts, the application deadline is May 1 for the in-person programs and July 15 for the online MES.

Here is an overview of the three programs:

1.) Online - Master of Environmental Sustainability (Online MES)

The Online MES is a fully online, self-paced, asynchronous 36 credit-hour degree that can be completed in as little as two years.

Designed for working professionals, the curriculum emphasizes social, economic, and environmental sustainability, with concentration options in environmental policy and planning or municipal and industrial sustainability. Taught by the same faculty as the in-person program.

2.) In-Person - Master of Environmental Sustainability (MES)

The in-person MES is an accelerated, 36 credit-hour degree that can be completed in as little as one year. The curriculum emphasizes social, economic, and environmental sustainability, with a concentration in environmental policy and planning.

Students gain quantitative, economic, and management skills applicable across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. International graduates are eligible for the STEM OPT extension, and students may also complete the program at a slower pace to fit their schedule.

75% of all students receive funding of 25% or more.

3.) Master of Science in Environmental Science (MSES)

This is a 48-credit, two-year in-person degree — one of the oldest and largest programs of its kind in the nation.

The curriculum covers environmental science, analytical methods, and policy. Graduates are eligible for the STEM OPT extension

All MSES students are considered for funding — most receive at least 25%.

Funding Your Degree

Externship Spotlight: National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy Marine & Community Conservation (Remote / Global)

Applications are currently being accepted for the Summer 2026 Marine and Community Conservation Externship Program.

This is a program of the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy and provides training, mentoring and research experience for people ages 18-25. Over the course of the program, externs explore the knowledge, tools, and relationships they need to seek solutions and take action for nature.

Here are key details about this program: 

  • 10 hours per week for 8 weeks, starting June 1, 2026.

  • Fully remote 

  • Open to applicants worldwide 

  • This program is intended for people ages 18–25 to build the knowledge, tools, and relationships needed to seek solutions and take action in their communities.

  • Prior work experience or coursework in conservation or environmental topics is not required 

  • $500 stipend upon program completion. 

Externs will gain knowledge and develop skills in areas including marine conservation, investigative research, public speaking, and more.

Last Call! Deadline is April 16 for SI2 Fellowship

The application deadline is April 16 for the next cohort of the SI2 Fellowship. This program provides a professional development opportunity for students seeking hands-on experience working on solar and storage policy research, policy analysis, and public education efforts through the Solar and Storage Industries Institute and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).

The SI2 Fellowship is a year-long engagement based in Washington, DC, with optional remote service. Each position is full-time during the summer months (maximum 40 hours) and part-time during the academic year (maximum 20 hours). Fellows will conduct research and policy analysis on key topics affecting renewable energy companies across the country while receiving extensive professional development and training.

Applicants should be graduate, doctoral and/or post-doctoral students. You can view the complete list of requirements here.

Compensation for this fellowship is $25-35 per hour, depending on experience. 

Applications are accepted through April 16, 2026, with the fellowship starting on June 22, 2026. To learn more and apply click here.

April’s upcoming DC Climate Week with feature a Climate Career Development Day on April 23! This event will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn from experienced career coaches, connect with industry experts, and gain the tools you need to upskill, stand out, and advance your career through engaging, hands-on workshops.

The final session of the Spring 2026 edition of Finding Your Future in Food Systems, a webinar series hosted by North American Food Systems Network (NAFSN), will be on May 6.
